We aim to reply within 1 business day. For anything about an existing booking, include the six-character booking reference (PNR) shown in My Trips and on your confirmation.
Flights booked in the app
When you book a flight inside BarrelFare, the booking is fulfilled through our travel-technology partner (Duffel) and issued by the operating airline. Your contract of carriage is with the airline, and the fare rules shown on the review screen before you pay — refundability, change rules, and baggage — are what govern your ticket.
BarrelFare does not currently add any booking fee or markup: you pay the fare shown.
Cancelling a booking
- To cancel, email us at [email protected] with your booking reference. We will process the cancellation with the airline and confirm the outcome, including any refund amount, by email.
- Booked by mistake? Contact us as soon as possible. Where the airline's rules allow a grace-period cancellation (many U.S. itineraries can be cancelled free within 24 hours of purchase when booked a week or more before departure), we will pass that on in full.
- Refundable fares are refunded per their fare rules, minus any airline-imposed penalty. Non-refundable fares generally cannot be refunded, though taxes and some fees may be recoverable, and some airlines offer flight credit instead.
Refund timing
Approved refunds go back to your original payment method. Once the airline confirms the refund we submit it immediately; banks and card networks typically post it within 5–10 business days, though some airlines take longer to confirm on their side. We'll keep you updated by email either way.
Airline schedule changes and cancellations
If the airline changes or cancels your flight, we notify you in the app (My Trips) and by push notification. Depending on the airline's policy you may be entitled to a rebooking or a full refund — email us and we'll walk you through the options and handle the paperwork with the airline.
BarrelFare Pro subscription
Pro subscriptions are purchased through Apple and billed to your App Store account. Apple handles subscription refunds under its own policies: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. You can cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions); cancelling stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period.

Found a bug, a wrong price, or a surf spot we should add? Email [email protected] — screenshots help. Flight prices and surf forecasts are estimates from third-party data and can go stale; the price you see at checkout review is the live, bookable price.
