How the trip finder works

How does the trip finder pick a trip?

It checks the 16-day surf forecast at 114 breaks against round-trip fares from your home airport, and ranks each trip by how good the waves are for what the flight costs. Your level sets the size and power of wave it looks for.

Where do the fares come from?

Recent Google Flights searches from your airport. A price on a card is the cheapest recent round trip for those dates. You confirm the live price where you book, with the airline.

What does a month search show?

Past the 16-day forecast, the finder ranks each break by how often that month is good across years of wave history, against the fares seen for that month.

Why are some trips locked?

The top trip is open. The full ranked list, the cheapest-dates calendar and swell and deal alerts come with BarrelFare Pro, on the web and the iPhone app. Pro starts with a 14-day trial.

Do you sell flights?

No. BarrelFare ranks the trips and hands you off to book with the airline. No payment, no markup.
