Hossegor (La Graviere) surf guide
The wave. La Gravière is a sandbar shorebreak in Hossegor, with hollow lefts and rights that break right on the beach. An underwater canyon offshore lets swell reach the coast with extra power, and on 2-meter days it throws heavy, thick-lipped barrels. It has been a fixture of the Quiksilver Pro France for decades.
Who it suits. It is for expert surfers only. Intermediates do better at Les Culs Nus, and beginners at La Sud, behind the harbour walls.
