Huntington Beach Pier: guida al surf
L'onda. Huntington Beach Pier è un beach break con banchi di sabbia su entrambi i lati del pontile, e i suoi picchi rompono a sinistra e a destra. Il lato sud ha un bowl potente con una parete aperta, e il lato nord ha un picco più corto e rotondo che diventa cavo più in fretta. Duke Kahanamoku ha surfato qui dal 1925, e oggi il pontile ospita ogni estate lo US Open of Surfing.
Per chi è adatto. Nella maggior parte dei giorni gli shortboarder riempiono i picchi, e le giornate piccole sono adatte agli intermedi che sanno gestire un line-up affollato. I set potenti dell'inverno sono adatti ai surfisti esperti.
