El Sunzal surf guide
The wave. El Sunzal is a long right-hand point that peels over a rocky bottom just up the beach from El Tunco. The outside can run close to 200 meters, and a ride can stretch to about 300 meters when the inside links up. American surfers first came here in the late 1960s, and it has drawn locals and visitors ever since.
Who it suits. Small days suit beginners on longboards, and shortboard and bodyboard riders too. Large swells are for experienced surfers.
