Guia de surf de Ditch Plains, Montauk
A onda. Ditch Plains é um reef break sobre uma plataforma baixa de seixos e pedras cobertos de areia em Montauk. Ele transforma o swell em paredes suaves que abrem por muito tempo, o que faz dele um clássico do longboard. O surf aqui vem de décadas: um campeonato de 1965 reuniu mais de 300 surfistas, e em 1967 a cidade testou uma licença para surfistas com um medalhão de metal.
Para quem é. Os dias pequenos de verão servem para iniciantes e longboarders, com ondas mais suaves em direção a Montauk Shores. Ondas maiores e melhores quebram perto do molhe da ponta leste, onde se reúnem os surfistas experientes.
