New Smyrna Beach (Ponce Inlet) surf guide
The wave. The Inlet is a sand-bottom beach break on the south side of Ponce de Leon Inlet, inside Smyrna Dunes Park. The jetty holds sandbars that give lefts and rights, and the inlet keeps them changing. Surfer magazine has called it the most consistent break on Florida's coast.
Who it suits. Small days suit beginners and intermediates, and the jetty area draws both. Solid swells and crowded weekends suit experienced surfers who know the etiquette.
