Rincon (Tres Palmas) surf guide
The wave. Tres Palmas is a right-hand reef break at Rincón on the west coast of Puerto Rico, and it is Rincón's big-wave spot. It breaks on an outer reef and does not start until around double overhead. Rincón hosted the 1968 World Surfing Championships, which put the town on the surf map.
Who it suits. Only experienced big-wave surfers with the right boards and training should paddle out. Everyone else can surf the smaller reefs close by.
