The fine print
International flights. Surfboard counts as one piece within the class free baggage allowance (e.g., 23 kg/piece Economy); overweight charged per ANA excess-baggage table. Oversize charge waived for sporting equipment 158-292 cm linear; restrictions depending on aircraft type and route apply. Items exceeding 292 cm (115 in.) or 45 kg (99 lbs) cannot be checked in (per ana.co.jp US checked-baggage page snippet). Advance inquiry required: 'Please check the size and weight, then inquire with ANA in advance about baggage with total linear dimensions that exceed 203 cm (80 in.).
