The fine print
Exact wording: 'We accept your surfboard as a checked baggage if it is packed in a protective bag or hard case. Any equipment that is not appropriately packed will not be accepted.' Sporting equipment counts toward the checked baggage allowance (weight concept on most routes); to/from Canada and the USA most sporting equipment is treated as one piece of baggage. No single item above 32 kg accepted (occupational health and safety). Odd-sized limit 200cm (L) x 75cm (W) x 80cm (H); odd-sized items may arrive on a separate carousel. No advance notice required for surfboards (unlike javelins/vaulting poles/canoes, which need contact 5 working days prior). No board-count or aircraft-type restriction stated.
